It’s another year, this year I am late with my yearly About Me update!  For that I apologise (it’s currently 22/05/15).

Did I change last year?  I think I did.  I know I grew more confident in academics (feeling just a little more like I belong in an honours class when I finally finished my thesis), but well, we’re always changing.

This year, I want to reflect.  I am stuck in this in between place, and it seems, I just want to reflect on my past and what makes me who I am now.  That’s why I am beginning my ‘Thousand Things to Say’ section this year.  To reflect on pieces wisdom others have told me, and also that I feel should be passed on.

I will still be writing up my Suggestive Reads, expressing my thoughts in poetry, looking for inspiration in others’ words, and may even be revamping my 55 fiction stories!

The Nina Of 2014 SAYS:

Words that flow like water.  They push and pull and pool and puke.  The words are an inescapable force.  It flows, they flow, they are your best and worst friend.  They form what you want to say and are formed to make the piece you want to read.  Words are like water, they flow, endless.

WELL, this is my second New Years with this blog.  I’ve been through the year gaining inspiration.  I have written poetry, creative writing that I never thought I would ever write. I have a music section that I never thought I would have.  And I am now blogging review-like “suggestive reads” which I never thought I would do.  I’ve done so many things I never thought I would do.  It seems, I have truly been inspired in 2013.

Inspiring.  I don’t know if I have been inspiring.  I can only say, I have been inspired by many.  I have been inspired by my friends, family, fellow bloggers, my readers, my followers and the blogs that I love.  I have been inspired by the weather, by my moods, by the television.

And the words  have flowed!

But, even so one who writes this much, is bound to hit a brickwall.

And brickwalls are hard.  By no means is it easy to overcome.  I’m still hitting the brickwall now, for some reason, I haven’t found the inspiration for new poetry.

But I am a writer.  A writer can be without words, however temporarily, until they find a way over the wall.  And I like persevering.  I like to think that “brickwall” translates to “a moment to change”.  I like to think that during this time of change, I am growing.  A brickwall is not the end, but an obstacle to climb over.  So that I can go from point A to point B.  And from there, go from the Writer of 2013 to the new Writer of 2014.

I will be writing short stories, poetry, 55 fiction, suggestive reads, and anything creative that I have been doing over the past two years.  And maybe, maybe I’ll be adding a little more.  I hope to continue writing well :)!

In this year to come, I will find “change”.  Change is happening all around us, and it happens at every moment of our lives.  While 2012 had been about “discovery” and 2013 had been about “inspiring”, in this year to come, I want to investigate the theme of “Change” so be sure to look out for it!

I hope, I can change and change for the better.

Dear readers, followers, fellow bloggers and hopefully future friends!

I’m updating my about page for 2013.  I feel its kind of necessary even if it’s already a month into the new year and three months short of being a blogger for a year.  I’ve learnt a lot since I started blogging, particularly about my writing and about myself.

Words had always come easy to me, though they might not be long and sophisticated or beautifully poetic.  They just are.  they describe the things in my head and bring colour to that image.  I want to wow, I want people to read, I want to create colour.  Whether it’s a short story about love or hate.  Murder or friendship.  I want to bring colour with my words.

And I want to be an author one day.  I want people to read my books because of what they are.  I want people to enjoy the stories I tell.  I want them to mean something.

But for now, while I work hard on becoming an author, I want to write here, where everyone can see.

It took me a long time to understand, since I had a lot of trouble to begin with, what kind of things I enjoyed writing.  I felt down sometimes, angry, frustrated, annoyed at the pile of work from uni.  But then there were times when I could write about them, express the feelings I was feeling or observing.  I discovered that I enjoyed writing about moments in a day.  Fractions of a moment that came together as a whole.

My stories had always been scattered.  When I began last year in April I had no idea exactly what I should write about, what genre, what style.  I wrote randomly about the first things that came to mind, but I found myself lacking inspiration.  I wrote about other things, posted quotes, not only to inspire others, but for inspiring myself.

As the year went on I overcame obstacles knowing always that there were people watching my blog, people waiting, maybe, to read what I write, just as I was waiting to read what others wrote.  So I focussed and worked through that particular writing block sometime in september last year.  It had been agonising, I literally couldn’t write much of anything in any form.  It was hard.  I had no inspiration.

Until I became inspired.  When I was inspired, I felt as though I’d gone through a renaissance.  I hope in the past year my writing has improved.  And from now on will continue to improve.

I love this blog, it has been wonderful in my journey as an aspiring author.

It’s been a rad year.  And I’ve loved every minute.

So this year, I hope I can inspire many as many have inspired me.  I want to be inspiring.  Because an author must be inspiring.  If I can’t do that, then how can I be author? ;P

I feel like last year the theme was “discovery”, except that’s only clear to me, haha.  This year, I’ll make it clear, I want to be “inspiring”.  That’s the theme!

So dear readers, followers, fellow bloggers, I hope it will be a wonderful year again!  I look forward to writing more and more, reading more and more and discovering more and more.

Hi!  My name is Nina and I love writing.  There’s always a story in my head that I want to get out.  Have you ever had that feeling that you want to do something, that something is always on your mind, and you really really have to do it?  Well it’s been bugging me for ages, this writing thing.  I have so much time on my way to uni and yet I don’t actually do anything.  I’ve started writing while I’m on the train because, how else better than to get started as a writer?  You have to start writing right?  But I didn’t know who to show the stories to, so I that’s when I decided to start a blog.  This blog.  Where whenever possible I will write my latest short story.

Now about my blog!  I have this fascination for 55 word fiction and since I’m a busy person, they’ll be my key posts, but every so often, I’ll post a longer, more in-depth short if you’re interested in Short Stories! 🙂

Plus!  Because second to my writing I read.  I read alot.  So watch and look for my updates of books that peeps might enjoy – especially if you’re into YA!  Though I’m not posting reviews.  I’m just going to post them as suggestive reads!
