Quote #108

Philip LarkinFrom Phillip Larkin

“In everyone there sleeps
A sense of life lived according to love.
To some it means the difference they could make
By loving others, but across most it sweeps,
As all they might have done had they been loved.
That nothing cures.”

[It was Larkin that got me into poetry…]

  1. I love Philip Larkin. I’m sure you know all about him. He looks like any commuter you might meet on a city transport system but what an amazing sensibility he hid behind his conventional exterior

    • Larkin’s my favourite poet, and the guy who got me into poetry in the first place! I completely agree with what you said, he really had an incredible sense to the every day, just amazing!
