“The Selection” by Kiera Cass

The Selection (The Selection, #1)

For some reason I am enamoured with this cover.  Cover love much??  It’s currently on my to read list, and I have yet to reach out an read it, but I saw it on Goodreads a while back.  It caught my interest.  Several months later, I saw it at Dymocks and I couldn’t help but think.  That cover is just awesome.

I don’t know why I like it so mucm.  No treally a fan of dresses like that.  But it just looks awesome.  The reflections, the pose, the dress, the font.  It pretty much came together well, I think.

So what is the book about?

This is the blurb on Goodreads:

For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn’t want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she’s made for herself–and realizes that the life she’s always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

Worth reading?

I don’t know.  It has a lot of negative reviews, yet there are some positive ratings?  I might try it for sake of cover love, even if I’m disappointed, I will take into careful consideration the saying “Don’t judge a book by its cover”!

The Promo Book Trailer…

dunnoooooo, it kinda looks all fairy and princely to me.  Sometimes in my opinion, it translates as lame.  But still…

And so on….
